Broken

I’ve neglected you, sweet photography blog. I promise to spend more time with you…..

I was inspired by a photo I saw online. I had to recreate it with a twist.  Thankfully, I have friends who aren’t afraid to show a lil’ skin for art (I’ve also been experimenting in photoshop).

WITH THE NEW DAY COMES NEW STRENGTH

Last month NY & NJ got their asses rocked by Hurricane Sandy. New York beach communities, such as Long Beach, the Rockaways and Breezy Point were destroyed. These are working class neighborhoods that were still recovering from Hurricane Irene last year.

One of my favorite charities The United Way, has created a United Way Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund. Contributions will be used by local United Ways along the Eastern Seaboard to address the near-term and long-term recovery needs of communities declared disaster areas by FEMA.

Donations to the United Way Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund can be made online at uwsandyrecovery.org. A $10 donation can be made by texting the word RECOVERY to 52000. Those wishing to donate also can send contributions to their local United Way. Indicate “Sandy Fund” with your donation.

I created a calendar and t-shirt using art work featured on my graphic design blog at Zazzle as a way to raise money for the “Sandy Fund” and am selling prints of my art and photography at Society6 .

Every single penny of Happi Anarky’s share of proceeds from the sale of these products goes directly to the Sandy Fund. The T-shirt, calendar and prints are nice to look at, they make great gifts and you’ll be supporting a worthy cause. Buy one or two today !

Slow Burn Burlesque

I love Burlesque shows! So when my friends and I stumbled upon a flyer on Bourbon Street in New Orléans two weeks ago, I knew we had to go!

Slow Burn Burlesque was amazing! If I lived in New Orléans I would definitely check out their shows often!

Thank’s for stopping by! Mia.

Goodbye Pixel Fairy

Making business card for my two love’s (graphic design + Photography), I decided to change the name of Pixel Fairy Photography to match my graphic design blog Happi Anarky.

I didn’t want to consolidate both blogs, (since both appeal to different audiences) but I did consolidate both Facebook pages( Happi Anarky Facebook Page) If you have FACEBOOK why don’t you show me some love and like =)

I present to you Happi Anarky Photography

This graphic was inspired by Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican candidate for the Missouri Senate race.
Akin was attempting to soften his opposition against abortion, even in cases of incest or rape when he said, " From what I understand from doctors , If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” The statement itself is outrageous but the part where he attempts to back his belief with medicine well that is just too flipping priceless.
